Short answer: not yet.
This week’s article is one of the closest I’ve found to my
own M.Arch Thesis research, and an interesting read for those wondering at general
strategies by which to attempt high-rise energy neutrality. Article - Is Net-0 Tall Possible? Like many Net-0 writings, this piece still follows a general ‘reductionist
strategy’ that most architects seem feign to use, jumping around a bit in
subject manner, while still leaving the reader to guess at how Net-0 tall is truly
achievable in forthcoming buildings. Sadly,
it continues to leave the viewer to assume engineers/engineering equipment
provides the final ‘magic bullet’ by which to solve any final Net-0 questions…..but
does brings up some salient points on glazing, window aperture size, and
general arrangement in particular,
A good read….but leaves one wishing for a tad more (and
leaving me to personally wonder at how a fully glazed building can still aim
for Net-0)
Final Verdict - 8/10
